DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this role is to provide material management of raw materials and/or component parts to the manufacturing locations and validate material will be available for production when needed. This includes ensuring the material is shipped from suppliers/customers on time and received/stored accurately. This role communicates directly with the supply base on any supply issues and works with internal teams on quality and inventory issues. This role is also responsible for processes related to Inventory Accuracy, BOM Accuracy, Excess/Obsolescence Management, New Product Planning, Operational Issues, Returnable Packaging Management, Invoice Resolution, Management & Error resolution, and Master Data Accuracy within ERP and/or other system.

 

DUTIES /
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain superior supplier and production operation communications through written, verbal and electronic communications
  • Schedule and communicate expedited shipments of materials to meet production and service requirements
  • Coordinate production line schedule changes due to raw materials shortages with the Production Scheduling team
  • Coordinate return shipments and receipts of raw materials
  • Control, audit and adjust material receipts within specified operating ranges to meet goals for accuracy and cost containment
  • Update pricing database and communicate changes in pricing or any possible supply interruption
  • Participate in the phase in and phase out of products, ensuring material availability for successful product launches, and obsolescence management when products are discontinued and raw materials no longer needed
  • Create new processes to improve supplier performance, reduce expedites, and reduce inventory without causing downtime on the production lines
  • Due to the plant shift schedules, must be able to work overtime hours, weekend shifts, and on-call duties as needed to support production requirements
  • Communicate with customers needs of raw materials supplied by customer. Process delivery paperwork of customer supplied raws in accordance with agreed to practices with each customer

 

KEY
REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or 2 year Technical College Degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
